During my school days in 2000, like most middle-class families with government doctors, my parents envisioned a future for me as either a doctor or an engineer. Following that dream, I joined one of Delhi’s most reputed coaching institutes to prepare for IIT. However, one evening, while waiting for the bus, I noticed nearly 80 other aspirants on either side of the road. A thought struck me—would merely become an engineer allows me to create real change in society? That moment of introspection changed my course. I realized that my true calling lay in advocating for justice and making a tangible difference in people’s lives. Law, to me, was not just a profession but a powerful tool to uplift society and fight for people’s rights. With this newfound purpose, I chose the legal field, determined to contribute meaningfully to justice and social transformation. Throughout my legal career, I have had the privilege of appearing before various Constitutional Benches, handling complex and precedent-setting cases. I was actively involved in the VYAPAM matter, navigating its intricate legal challenges. My work with an NGO to curb the sale of Gutkha in India led to significant court orders restricting its sale across the country, as I successfully represented the cause before multiple High Courts. Beyond litigation, I have also contributed to legal education, serving as a faculty member at various esteemed institutions across India, sharing insights from my experience to guide and inspire future legal professionals.
